Mold shops tend to manage machining operations using experience and intuition. Lemoine's PULSE (Performance UtiLization of Systems & Equipment) system was designed to monitor the machines in the shop and provide managers at all levels with information that is required to take the 'intuition' part out and bring the facts in. We have access to information such as idle times, feed rates, component name, operation type, operation length, etc., which allow us to provide management with tools to effectively manage machining operations.
With the focus on each mold component that is detected on the machines all operations are recorded and made available for analysis. For example, the system will report the time spent counter-boring, drilling, tapping, chamfering, etc. for a given component, like the ejector plate, core block, etc.
Standard reports for top management are scheduled to compile automatically and delivered to designated managers either weekly or monthly. Such reports allow management to track performances and meet goals.
